Co-Founder and CEO
As the Co-Founder and CEO at Thomas James Homes, Tommy oversees operations and leads the short- and long-term strategic direction of the firm’s portfolio. Prior to founding Thomas James Homes, Tommy served as Senior Vice President at Independent Financial Mortgage, where he originated approximately $1.8 billion in loans.
Tommy’s nearly 20 years in the mortgage and homebuilding industries cover management, business development, investor relations, research, analysis, and marketing.
He studied electrical and electronics engineering at California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo, business administration at Washington State University, and is a Licensed Real Estate Broker in California and Washington.
Chief Operating Officer
Chief technology officer
James serves as Corporate Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer, responsible for all corporate operational and technology matters. He has more than 25 years of investment banking, private equity, legal and senior corporate management experience with middle market companies. During his career, James has served in the capacity of director, outside investor, investment banker and advisor to more than 30 middle market companies and has raised or invested more than $700 million.
Previously James served as Managing Director of The McLean Group’s Irvine, CA office, and was a founding member of Brown Simpson Asset Management, LLC, a $450 million NY-based private equity group investing in middle market private and public companies where he led the firm’s technology group. He has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law.
Chief Financial Officer
James is our Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for all corporate finance, accounting, and reporting activities. He has previously held the CFO position at Alexander & Baldwin, SL Green Realty, Strategic Hotels & Resorts and Irvine Apartment Communities.
James’ financial executive experience at public companies spans two decades in the office, industrial, retail, hotel and multifamily real estate sectors. He serves on the board of advisors and fairness opinion committee for NYC-based investment bank, CenterCap Group, as well as Tulane University’s School of Science and Engineering. James is a board leadership fellow with the National Association of Corporate Directors and was formerly a director and chairman of the audit committee for the public REIT Easterly Government Properties.
After receiving his Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering from Tulane University, James completed his MBA at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.
As our General Counsel and Secretary, Anne oversees the legal affairs of Thomas James Homes. She previously served as the Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary of Summit Materials, Inc. (NYSE: SUM), a leading U.S. based construction materials company, where she was responsible for all legal matters.
Prior to joining Summit in 2013, Anne was a partner in the Washington DC office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where she had practiced since 2000. Her practice involved a wide range of corporate law matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other strategic transactions, securities offerings, securities regulation and disclosure issues, and corporate governance matters. She began her legal career with Chadbourne & Parke (now Norton Rose Fulbright) in New York in 1999.
Anne graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1999. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Psychology from the University of Michigan in 1995.
Chief Human Resources Officer
Maureen serves as Chief Human Resources Officer and handles all aspects of human resources strategy, organizational design, leadership development, compensation and benefits, talent acquisition, operations and technology, employee relations, and most importantly, our culture at TJH. Previously, She was VP of human resources at William Lyon Homes for 17 years, and previously worked as a director and various HR positions at ADP.
With over 30 years of HR experience, Maureen is skilled at developing collaborative relationships and aligning company objectives with employee values. She has proven adept at creating sustainable high-performance teams through talent acquisition and retention practices, influential leadership, and dynamic employee programs. Her affiliations include the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), National Human Resources Association (NHRA) and Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA).
Maureen earned her Bachelor of Arts in business administration from California State University at Fullerton. Outside of work, she enjoys family time and traveling, especially to the Monterey and Carmel area.
Executive Vice President, Marketing
As Executive Vice President, Marketing, Gina oversees neighborhood design and development, market and consumer research and analysis, sales management, and brand direction. Before joining the TJH team, she held senior-level positions with regional and national builders and land developers, including 8 years as the VP of marketing at Newland Communities.
Over the course of her 30-year career, Gina built a successful track record in strategic planning, and real estate, including high-density and mixed-use projects to major master-planned communities and low density, single-family housing. In 2019, she launched our new sister-company, Trademark by Thomas James Homes. In addition to affiliations with the Urban Land Institute, National Association of Home Builders, and the Building Industry Association, she also serves as president of The Council on SAGE (Shaping Advancements in Generational Environments), where has been a board member since 2009.
Gina earned her Bachelor of Science in real estate finance and marketing from California State University at Long Beach. When she’s not working, she enjoys honing her culinary skills, golfing, and any sport on or under the ocean with her husband of 25 years.
Southern California Division
Douglas is President of our Southern California Division, where he leads the strategic direction of the business with our acquisitions and disposition teams, as well as real estate development. He is also responsible for product development, purchasing, design and construction operations, and profit and loss for the region. His previous titles include Southern California Division President for K Hovnanian, and Vice President, Regional Manager at The New Home Company in Southern California.
Douglas’ real estate career spans more than 30 years, during which he’s developed a proven track record of success in managing multimillion-dollar development projects across six companies. With extensive industry experience and knowledge, he is a driven and dedicated leader of residential real estate development and has led cross-functional project teams to deliver over 11,000 homes for families across Southern California.
Douglas earned his Bachelor of Science in business with an emphasis in real estate development from California State Polytechnic University at Pomona. Outside of work, he can be found spending time with his wife of 31 years and their four adult children. Doug stays active and enjoys being outdoors mounting biking, skiing, and playing pickleball—though not at the same time.
Northern California Division
As President of our Northern California Division, Jon leads the acquisitions and disposition teams, real estate development, and strategic direction for the region. He is also responsible for product development, purchasing, design and construction operations, as well as the profit and loss responsibility of the business. Before joining the TJH team, he was Chief Operating Officer at Maverick Partners and President at MBK Homes.
As a real estate development and industry leader, Jon has over 30 years’ of experience in traditional homebuilding, student and senior housing, acquisitions, entitlement, predevelopment/development, construction operations, and finance. He has served in executive leadership roles for large, publicly traded Fortune 500 companies, along with startup and private equity sponsored organizations. In addition to partnering with community leaders, elected officials and other stakeholders, Jon has served as BIA Chairman and PCBC contributing speaker and author. He is a member of Silicon Valley Leadership Group and San Mateo County Economic Development Association.
Jon has a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Oregon, earning accolades as a student athlete, team captain and PAC 10 Conference honoree. He enjoys spending time with his wife of 27 years, Tammy, and their three kids Evan, Paige, and Jane, whether it’s at a Cal Bears football game, Pepperdine University swim meet, or high school lacrosse game.
Pacific Northwest Division
Mark serves as President of our Pacific Northwest Division, where he sets the strategic direction of the business by leading the acquisitions and disposition teams, as well as real estate development. He is also responsible for product development, purchasing, design and construction operations, and the profit and loss responsibility of the business. Before TJH, he was a senior development manager at Vulcan, Inc., and division president at the homebuilding company, Village Life.
Mark’s real estate career spans more than three decades and over $2 billion in commercial and residential real estate projects. He has been responsible for teams that have developed over 2,000 housing units across the country. His passion for improving the built environment led to directing energy research and sustainability programs for the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and the U.S. Department of Energy, as well as public and privately held corporations. A former adjunct lecturer and university research fellow, Mark currently volunteers as a management committee member with Urban Land Institute’s Northwest District Council. He is also a L.E.E.D. Accredited Professional with the U.S. Green Building Council.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from UCLA, and a joint MBA and Master of Science in construction management from the University of Washington. Outside of the office, he enjoys skiing, hiking, and wake surfing with his family.
As President of our Colorado Division, Stephen leads the acquisitions and disposition teams, sales and marketing team, real estate development, and strategic direction for the region. He is also responsible for product development, purchasing, design and construction operations, as well as the profit and loss responsibility of the business.
Over the course of a 31-year career, Stephen has developed strong leadership skills and experience across a broad spectrum of real estate business, including land acquisition, strategy, networking and negotiations, sales and business development, and operations management.
After receiving his Bachelor of Science in business from the University of the Redlands, Stephen earned a dual Masters of Business Administration degree from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley and New York’s Columbia University. He currently serves on University of Redlands’ board of trustees and as president of the alumni board of directors. Stephen enjoys spending time with his family, running, reading, golf, and travel.
